Sign up today and be a part of our OFN race day on August 1, 2026! Our traditional 50th Annual Old First Night chip timed 2.75 mile run or walk takes participants around the perimeter of beautiful Chautauqua Institution. Those who aren’t on the grounds on race day can still be a part of the celebration by signing up for our virtual Around the World race. Race entry includes a keepsake OFN t-shirt featuring the Chautauqua Sports Club.
This year we offer tiered pricing for OFN race registrations:
- $45 preseason pricing through June 26.
- $50 June 27 – July 27.
- $55 July 28 – July 31. Online registration closes at 5:30pm on July 31.
- $70 race morning in-person registration only.
Our 2026 OFN Race Day celebration offers kids more opportunities to get in on the fun! Once again this year the Sports Club is hosting four kids fun runs: 1 Mile Run, 100 Yard Dash, 25 Yard Toddler Trot, and 10 Yard Diaper Crawl. Race entry for each of these kids fun runs includes an “I AM CHQ’S FUTURE” hat or string bag for babies.
This year we are also offering two ways for walkers to participate. We continue to offer walkers the option of racing for the top 5 overall awards by finishing closest to their estimated time.. There is also a Speed Walk category where you race against the clock for fastest overall walk time. Walkers must finish within 90 minutes of the race start in order for their results to be published. Top five overall winners will receive awards in both walk categories. Times for walkers who finish after 90 minutes will be manually captured up to 120 minutes.
